In a dark room it fills the room: plugged in low at a wall outlet, the scenes climb the walls and spread across the whole ceiling, turning slowly. The lower it sits, the bigger the spread. With the room lights on, you mostly see the glowing tree.

It looks best on a plain, light-coloured ceiling or wall in a dark room. Dark paint, heavy texture and daylight make the shapes fainter.

No, it's made for indoors. It isn't weatherproof, so keep it away from rain and damp.

Small. About 5 in (12.5 cm) across when coiled and about 5 oz, so it hangs straight off a wall charger, low by the outlet, without taking any space.

No batteries. It plugs into any USB-A port: a phone charger, a power bank, a laptop. A charger isn't included.
